I photograph families throughout the St. John River Valley, including Fredericton, Woodstock, Hartland, and Florenceville-Bristol. I'm always happy to travel a little farther - especially to places like New River Beach or your family cottage at the lake.

What to expect
My goal at family sessions is always to create an easygoing experience, focused on real connection. Kids don’t need to behave perfectly for me, and parents don’t need to stress - a little chaos is more than welcome (and very common).
We’ll aim for a few smiling-at-the-camera photos, but the moments I love most are the playful, connected, in-between ones. I’ll offer some simple guidance and keep things light, but the best images, in my experience, happen when you’re interacting - laughing, leaning in close, and simply being yourselves.
Many families feel most natural when they are doing something together - going for a walk, spending time at the lake, or enjoying a favourite family activity. I love this too, and it often results in photos that feel more personal and true to you.
You're welcome to bring your dog, snacks, or anything else that helps everyone feel comfortable. When people are relaxed and enjoying themselves, beautiful photos tend to follow naturally.

FAQ
What should we wear?
This is a personal choice, but I find that earth tones photograph really well - deep green, muted blues, rust, burgundy, grey, tan, brown, cream, and typically black, as well. I often find that red, yellow, bright pink, and most vibrant colours can render weird, and can even throw a colour cast up onto skin. As a general rule, avoid everyone being too matchy-matchy (think 1994 Sears), but certainly try to pick a general scheme that has everyone on the same page. The season and location should also influence your outfits. I know this can feel daunting to some, so don't hesitate to email me some pictures of outfit ideas and I'll offer some feedback.
Where will we do the photos?
This is up for discussion! I always love when families have somewhere special in mind - their home or backyard, at the family cottage, a relative's farm or woodlot, etc. But there's also nothing wrong with a simple tree-line where the sun streams through or a patch of some overgrown grass. I'm located near Hartland and travel throughout Carleton County without charge. For the Fredericton area, there is a $75 travel fee. Beyond Fredericton, please inquire about travel cost.
How long does it take to get our photos?
I deliver complete galleries within 2 weeks, often less.
What if we don't want our pictures online?
Your gallery is available only via a private link and is password-protected - only you can view it. As for Instagram and my website, I *always* ask for permission first. If you're not comfortable with me sharing them, they will never be posted.

We make a plan
Based on your location preferences and any ideas you have in mind, we'll choose a setting that feels like a good fit for your family.
We'll confirm the plan a few days beforehand, so it's completely ok if you're unsure at first. If you'd like input on clothing, you're welcome to send me what you're considering - but there's no pressure.
STEP 03
Session day
We will meet at our chosen location and spend about an hour together, keeping things relaxed and focused on connection.
Feel free to bring snacks, a blanket, your dog, bubbles - anything that helps your kids feel comfortable or adds meaning to the session.
Your balance is due on session day.
STEP 04
Editing + Gallery
After your session, I'll carefully edit your best images, upload a private gallery, and send it to you within two weeks.
